Well, if this rumor proves to be true, then the answer is - VERY!
Word on the street is that TripAdvisor has purchased the popular Facebook mapping ap, Where I've Been, for $3 million.
If you're not familiar with Where I've Been, it has 2.3 million users and is currently the most popular travel ap on Facebook. The second most popular is the TripAdvisor owned Cities "I've Visited" which has 1 million less.
So doing the math, a $3 million deal puts each user acquired at $1.30. As Facebook Insider reports, that's 30 times the 4.6 cents per user that Slide paid when they purchased Favorite Peeps almost two months ago.
If acquisition price is any indication of value (and remember that in up markets it not always is) then TripAdvisor's purchase of Where I've Been has certainly given a major boost to Facebook platform developers.
