If you're finding it hard not to get caught up in the irrational hype surrounding Facebook's announcements yesterday, Nicholas Carr's blog post today should be a must read.
Carr puts everything into perspective by concluding his thoughts with the following statement (which I absolutely love):
Facebook, which distinguished itself by being the anti-MySpace, is now determined to out-MySpace MySpace. It's a nifty system: First you get your users to entrust their personal data to you, and then you not only sell that data to advertisers but you get the users to be the vector for the ads. And what do the users get in return? An animated Sprite Sips character to interact with.

This puma surpasses all my other wallets in funkiness, durability and looks. I love it's "tape" story too, although this is built much better than the old tape one. It even has a rivet for a chain. It's no longer just for fashion people - adults love it too.
