Increasing the Bottom Line With Panda Poop

I love hearing stories like this one:

The staff at a Panda breeding center in China have come up with a creative way to get rid of more than a ton of Panda poop that the 40 bears produce each and every day.

Their ingenious business innovation is now saving them more than 6,000 yuan a month in waste disposal savings.

So what are they doing?

They're turning the Panda poop into miniature Panda dolls, Olympic logos, and even picture frames which are then sold to tourists who visit the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Base.

An official at the base explains:

"'They don't smell too bad because 70 per cent of the dung is just remains of the bamboo that the pandas are unable to digest.  The process involves drying and sterilizing the dung at 300 degrees Celsius before being modelled."
